USA	pattern: Home , small farm or big mension sometimes with the all village , the church,. Colour : very saturated Complete alphabet is rare EARLIEST APPEARANCE OF VARIOUS DESIGNS THE EARLIEST SAMPLER KNOWN IN THE VARIOUS STATES
Germany	Pastel colors Linear vertical structure , each element being separated by a geometrical motif. Symbolic motifs ( apple tree , life tree, Adam &Eve, many biblical symbols..) Very sophisticated alphabet letters.
France	Almost always a complete alpahabet. Most of the time letters are stitched in red. It's usual to have the name of the young girl and often the name of her village stitched on the sampler.
