Timorous Beasties is a textile designer and maker founded in Glasgow in 1990 by Alistair McAuley and Paul Simmons. The name Timorous Beasties comes from the Robert Burn's poem. "To a Mouse"

Timorous Beasties defines their creation as a nightmarish vision of contemporary Glasgow inspired by traditional textiles such as Toile de Jouy or white damasc. Their early printings used motifs of fauna and flora derived from encyclopedia.
