Felice Rix-Ueno
1893-1967
Born in Vienna in 1893, she studied under Joseph Hoffmann. Felice Rix-Ueno worked on decorative designs for wallpapers, textiles, etc. at the Wiener Werkstatte.In 1925, she got married with a Japanese husband Isaburo Ueno, an architect, and moved to Japan. Using the knowledge and creative skills she acquired at Josef Hoffmann's Vienna Studio, she contributed to the development of Japanese modern art. After the second World War she taught at the Kyoto School of Arts.
